What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Complementary Therapy that aims to support health and well being at all levels, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Reiki is a natural treatment method that uses energy to promote relaxation, helping to rebalance and restore the body’s own natural healing processes. It is based on the concept that life-force energy or ‘ki’ connects us and flows around us through all living things. The word Reiki is composed of two Japanese words, ‘rei ‘meaning higher power and ‘ki’ meaning life-force energy and Reiki is often translated from Japanese as universal life-force energy.

What to expect?

Your first session will take a little longer than 1hr in order to complete a confidential health and well-being questionnaire. Sessions are held in my lovely, relaxing therapy room in Corsham and Reiki is a safe, non-invasive therapy, where you lie fully clothed and comfortable on my therapy couch. With your permission, I will lay my hands lightly on or hover above key areas of the body.

Reiki flows where it is needed and some people experience sensations of heat, tingling or nothing physical at all but a deep sense of relaxation. Aftercare suggestions are given at the end of each session.

Distant Reiki Session

In these unprecedented times, distant Reiki provides a wonderful and effective alternative solution because energy is not limited by distance. A distant Reiki session is as effective and helpful as an in-person session but with all the physical barriers removed.

The practitioners and the client are both perceived as being energetic beings only and have the intention to send and receive energy. During the session, it is best if you are lying down in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed and once a distant reiki session has been experienced it has often some client’s preferred method of therapy.

After the session, a convenient time is arranged to discuss the experience with aftercare suggestions.
