What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is based on the principle that reflex points on the feet are connected to corresponding areas throughout the body. During the treatment points on the feet (or hands) are stimulated with a gentle to firm pressure to detect and restore imbalances within the body to bring about a state of deep relaxation and encourage the body’s natural healing abilities and equilibrium.

What to expect?

Reflexology is a safe and non-invasive Complementary Therapy suitable for most including children and young people, pregnant women and older people and only shoes and socks need to be removed. Sessions last 1hr and your first session would last 1hr 20 to complete a confidential health and well-being questionnaire. Each treatment will be tailored to your needs and will include a variety of advanced techniques. Some of the Continued Professional Development courses I have completed that inform my practice include Spinal Reflexology; Maternity Reflexology, Precision Reflexology; Reflexology and Cancer and Footreading. Aftercare advice suggestions are given at the end of each treatment.

I have completed the Functional Reflex Training with Lorraine Senior designed for children and adults of all ages with high levels of anxiety, intellectual difficulties, autism, special educational needs and disabilities. It is an enjoyable and beneficial experience for more vulnerable adults with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Important: Reflexology is usually safe to have alongside conventional medicine but if you are currently having any medical treatment please speak to your GP before booking an appointment.
